What to Expect from Data Tamasha

Data Tamasha is a biennial event that showcases the role of data in development and how data can make a difference in our community. It brings together data enthusiasts, leaders and practitioners across industries, private and public sector, academia, and civil society organizations. It involves dialogues, panel discussions, presentations, fireside chats, showcases, interactive sessions, exhibitions and public outreach activities.

This year makes the third Data Tamasha event with the theme “Unboxing Data for the Digital Economy”. The event will be held on 6-8 December 2021 in a hybrid format, virtually on digital platforms and physically. We will have pre-events held on 2-3 (virtually).

The event will be held at the dLab offices within the College of Information and Communication Technology (CoICT), University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Kijitonyama Campus.

Data Tamasha 2017

Data Tamasha was held for the first time in 2017 with the theme “Data in Action” and it was attended by over 300 participants from all over the world.

Data Tamasha 2019

The second Data Tamasha was held in 2019 with the theme “The Power of Data for Inclusive Sustainable Development” and was attended by over 800 participants from all over the world.

Data Tamasha 2021

With the theme “Unboxing Data for the Digital Economy”, Data Tamasha 2021 is the third Data Tamasha event expected to bring together over 1,000 participants from all over the world.
