What to Expect from Data Tamasha

Data Tamasha is a biennial event that showcases the role of data in development and how data can make a difference in our community. It brings together data enthusiasts, leaders and practitioners across industries, private and public sector, academia, and civil society organizations. It involves dialogues, panel discussions, presentations, fireside chats, showcases, interactive sessions, exhibitions and public outreach activities.

This year makes the fourth Data Tamasha event with the theme “Data for Human Centered Digital Future”, Empowering Communities to Benefit from Digitalization through Greater Data Use. The event will be held on 29-30 November 2023 in physicaly at Johnari Rotana Hotel, Dar es salaam and virtual in digital platform in both Youtube and Zoom (for registered participants)

Data Tamasha 2017

Data Tamasha was held for the first time in 2017 with the theme “Data in Action” and it was attended by over 300 participants from all over the world.

Data Tamasha 2019

The second Data Tamasha was held in 2019 with the theme “The Power of Data for Inclusive Sustainable Development” and was attended by over 800 participants from all over the world.

Data Tamasha 2021

With the theme “Unboxing Data for the Digital Economy”, Data Tamasha 2021 was the third Data Tamasha event that brought together over 1,000 participants from all over the world.

With the theme "Data for Human Centered Digital Future",Empowering Communities to Benefit from Digitalization through Greater Data Use.Data Tamasha 2023 will bring together government officials, industry leaders, academics, technologists, and experts from various fields. .
